Tamil Muslim Drift in Eezham

Continuous defaming of Eezham struggle using Muslim drift on space is getting old. Sympathy extended to the other party is not given to Eezha brothers who were speaking. They were told not to defend why the overflow of empathy towards the other part was crocodile tears. As I said before if you want to eliminate your political enemy or revamp your name, use other means. Stop starting drift between Tamils in Eezham. People like Shanakiyan are working hard to close the gap.

How did a brotherly group get divided? Was LTTE the extremist? Why would they displace all the Muslims from the North? This is not to defend or justify but for you to learn what pushed the wheel to move. Since 1956, Tamils were trying to fight oppression and survive massacres, they started to fight back - standing up for their rights.  Sinhala government wanted to dismantle this.

They started pitting Muslims against us knowing some leaders prefer religious identification over linguistic one. They started using eezha Muslim leaders to their benefit.  As Quaid-E-Millat [Mohammed Ismail] was fighting for Tamil rights in India, Razik Fareed played a major role in the Sinhala imposition in Sri Lankan government. Politician by the name Ahamed Lebbe Sinne Lebbe was the first MP to accept the Sinhala-only representation flag as the national flag of Sri Lanka. When Tamils from the Hill region were denied of their right to citizenship in Sri Lanka, Muslim leaders like Dr.MCM Kaleel and Tuan Burhanuddin Jayah were the first to vote in favor of it.

Now you may ask me what did other Eezha Tamilar do for Tamils who came from India.  Please be aware that Thanthai Selva criticized Ponnabalam for his lack of support and left his party to form his own. Yet again Muslim leaders stood with Sinhala leaders to deny the right of another group of Tamils. After over 30 yrs of oppression & massacre, as Tamils were strengthening their voice against oppression, a 1983 riot happened:  Killing & displacing Tamils. Yet All Ceylon Muslim League leader M.C.M Kaleel said such riots will happen if Tamils fight against oppression

During this time, Tamil Nadu Muslims were acting in favor of Eezha tamilar which was heavily criticized by Kaleel. In 1986, Tigers condemned EPRLF's attacks against Muslims- brief summary: In this statement, the Tigers condemn EPRLF(Padhamanabha group that Karunanidhi supported) for launching a series of attacks against Muslims in the East. In this statement, the Tigers say that they would take military action against the EPRLF if it doesn't stop its anti-Muslim attacks. This happened 4 years before the Kattankudi massacre. This proves that the Indian R.A.W along with EPRLF and TELO has been attempting to disrupt the communal harmony of Tamils for a very long time in the East, and it was only the Tigers who stood by the Muslim people at that time.

In 1988 the Tigers entered into an agreement with the Muslim leadership of the East on how to devolve powers between both communities. At that time the IPKF along with EPRLF & other groups continued to attack Muslims and Muslim home guards of the military were attacking Tamils. It was a concerted effort from all parties to disrupt the political agreement between the Muslim leadership and the Tigers. Tamil space twitter who are so heavy on Kaatankudi massacre failed to see there were many massacres against Tamils before that by the Muslim armed force. This is in no way justifying the death of innocent people or agreeing to the eye for an eye concept.

This is our side of the story. An important point to note is that Kaatankudi was under Sinhala army control - how could few people get into the village - massacre - would create chaos and cause attention- but manage to get away without being caught when they have oor kaval thurai and lankan army there. It clearly seemed well-planned to turn it against LTTE.  LTTE never shied away from taking responsibility for all their acts & R. Gandhi murder & Kaatankudi incidents r two they never claimed responsibility for Udumbankulam massacre was an attack carried out by Muslims against Tamils in 1986. Tamils were this area are the displaced Tamils from Southern Batticaloa due to forced Sinhala colonization. Tamils and Muslims were pitted against each other in this area. As Tamils were flourishing, the 1983 anti-Tamil riot took place changing the non-violence fight to an armed struggle that leads to major violence in the Northeast by the Sinhala army.

In 1985, the Sinhala army went into the village & men were mercilessly hacked with machetes and beat up with logs. Some were knifed to death. Skulls were cracked with heavy blows from thick logs. The men were helpless, as their hands and feet had been carefully tied up. Women were asked to remain in the huts. They ordered many of them to lift up their sarees and beat them on their genitals with sticks as they screamed in pain and begged to be spared of the humiliation, said Velmurugu Manoharan, who escaped the roundup and hid in the jungle. He was a boy of 13 who had gone to harvest paddy with a relative.

“Women who heard the death screams of their men tried to run up to the threshing floor, shouting for mercy. They were shot at and chased away. Before returning to camp the marauders set the threshing floor on fire and left a mangled pile of smoldering human entrails. People in the adjacent areas were too scared to get close to Udumbankulam.“One of the boys who fled with me into the jungle recognized his father’s body in the pile when we returned the following morning. The man’s burnt hands were still wound up with barbed wire. Later the boy went with the LTTE and we heard that he became a Black Tiger, said Manoharan.”

Witnessing such a tragedy made us not uptake ahimsa because it only got us killed over 2 decades. Sinhala army did not come through the jungle unaided. They needed a guide or a tracker. The survivors identified the guide as Saheed from the Muslim village of Addalachenai. Saheed was a calculated invention to further exacerbate tensions between the Muslims and Tamils in the district. That a Muslim was responsible for gruesome massacres in Batticaloa enraged many Tamils and led to incidents that rent sunder

and deeply divided society in the east to the advantage of the Sri Lankan military. What the Sinhala government did in the past is what Tamil space members are doing on Twitter - pitting Tamil Muslims against Tamils to revamp their political idols. Though everyone lost something in Lanka, we have lost everything since 1956.  Let us heal, let us rebuild, and let us rehabilitate our young generation.  Don’t bring in your dirty politics to turn Muslims against Tamils or Tamils against Tamils once again.

Navaly Church massacre

Today marks the 26 years since the massacre where bombs were dropped over the Navaly area, killing hundreds and injuring many more including at the Church. 1995, was the year when the Sri Lankan military was fighting hard to retake the Jaffna peninsula.  There was intense artillery shelling and aerial bombardment.

Due to this reason, the military informed civilians to take shelter at places of worship which later became the targetted locations.

100s of people took refuge in the Navaly Church which was bombed by Pukkara airplane -   dropped 8 to 13 bombs over Navaly, around the church, the Sri Kathirkama Murugan Hindu Temple, and in residential neighborhoods, killing hundreds of people and injuring many more

According to an account by human rights activist Ruki Fernando, the number of dead could have been up to 300, including children. ‘Those killed included minors (a 4-year-old, 3 young boys including 1 whose body was never found, & 2 girls), elders (2 68-year-olds), a Grama Niladhari who was cooking for the displaced & the youth volunteers, 13 members of one family & a woman'

Church bombings in Jaffna, like in Navaly, Gurunagar & Allapipiddy leading to massive loss of civilian lives received little or no national media coverage & acknowledgment from governments. Is this because victims are Tamils and perpetrators are genocide deniers?

‘Bombs rolling in the air’ - Remembering the Navaly church massacre

On this day 25 years ago, the Sri Lankan air force dropped 13 bombs on St Peter’s Church in Navaly. More than 140 sheltering Tamils, who were encouraged by the military to seek refuge at the church, 26 years yet there has been no investigation into the Navaly massacre, and no one has been arrested, prosecuted, or convicted.

Black July - A Genocide

It's been 38 years yet we are still mourning and still fighting for equality. Though July 1983 riot has been the most talked about, riots against Tamils have been a constant event in Sri Lanka since the 1950s.

1956 - 1956 anti-Tamil pogrom, Eastern Province - The first Sinhalese-Tamil riots in Ceylon. The majority of victims were Tamils in Gal Oya, a new settlement in the Eastern Province. The total number of deaths is reportedly 150.

1958 - 1958 anti-Tamil pogrom, the 1958 ethnic pogrom, and riots are popularly known also as the 58 riots a watershed event in the racial relationship of the various ethnic communities of Sri Lanka. The total number of deaths is estimated to be 300, mostly Tamils.

1977 - 1977 anti-Tamil pogrom, Sri Lanka - Anti-Tamil pogrom starting on 12 August 1977, less than a month after the United National Party came to power in 1977. Over 300 Tamils were killed during these riots.

S.P. Amarasingam on the 1977 Anti-Tamil Pogrom

1981 - Burning of Jaffna library, Jaffna, Northern Province - The destruction of the Jaffna Public Library, with the loss of over 100,000 books, artifacts, and palm writings. Four Tamils were killed.

1981 - anti-Tamil pogroms were carried out by Sinhalese mobs against predominantly Tamils of Indian origin in Ratnapura, Kahawatte and Balangoda areas. Shops were looted and set on fire and many women and girls were raped by marauding mobs.

how the 1981 riots shaped my future

1983 - Black July anti-Tamil pogrom, Sri Lanka - pogrom committed against Tamils of where between 400 and 3,000 Tamil civilians were killed and many more made homeless and refugees. This was believed to be the origin of the Sri Lankan Civil War.

1997 - Kalutara prison riots, Kalutara Western Province - Three Tamil detainees were killed at the Kalutara high-security detention center on 12 December 1997.

On 8 September 1998, a riot was unleashed on Plantation Tamils in Ratnapura where 200 organized Sinhalese goons with the support of local Sinhala politicians burnt down 800 houses.

brutal state-sponsored genocide lasting from July 23rd to July 30th. Armed with voter registration lists, Sinhalese mobs took at least 3,000 Tamils' lives, destroyed 5,000 shops, and displaced over 150,000 Tamils. At least 500 Tamil women were raped and many families were burned alive. It also prompted the first large exodus of Tamils: 500,000 fled the island, giving seed to a global Tamil diaspora

Months Preceding Black July:

Violence from the state had been increasing in the months ahead of Black July. Tamils were being killed. Human rights activists, political activists & militants were being detained & tortured.

April 1983: Torture of the Gandhiyam Movement
Gandhiyam movement members, SA David, and Dr. Rajasundaram were arrested and tortured.  This is a non-violent movement that predominately worked to support refugees by setting up farms and distributing food.

April 1983: 35 injuries were found on a Tamil detainee
A detainee at the Gurunagar army camp, Navaratnarajah, 28, of Kiliveddy, Trincomalee, was found to have 35 injuries. He was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

May 18, 1983: Army Run Amok
LTTE asked to boycott local elections. This led to a shootout that killed 1 army. Later that day, the army went on a rampage, leaving Jaffna in flames. Sinhala soldiers burnt homes, shops, and vehicles while looting and robbing.

May to June 1983: Increasing Discrimination of Tamils
In the south of the island, Tamils were facing increasing discrimination, harassment, and violence, including at universities, hospitals, and government offices.

May 1983: Brutal Killing of Sabaratnam Palanivel
On May 30th, 1983, Sabaratnam from Valvettithurai was dragged into the town's army camp and was killed.  As his relatives watched, a truck was driven over his dead body by a soldier, flattening his body.

May 1983: Tamil Killings in Army Custody
Meanwhile, verdicts of homicide were returned in two separate judicial inquiries into Tamil deaths in military custody. Kathirgamathamby Navaratnarajah and Ratnasingham Sriskandarajah were both killed in army custody.

June 1983: Armed Forces Attack Gandhiyam Farm
On June 1st, 2 Sri Lankan Air Force men were killed in a Tamil ambush in Vavuniya, military personnel went "berserk", burning buildings and attacking Tamils.  Gandhiyam's offices and farm were also attacked.

June 1983:
On 03.06.1983 emergency regulations were gazetted which permitted the disposal of dead bodies by armed forces without a judicial inquest & post-mortem. Regulations came into effect soon after judicial inquiries found the army to have killed Tamil men in Jaffna.

June 1983: Intensifying Anti-Tamil Violence
Racist violence occurred all over the island. Dozens of Tamils died. In Trincomalee homes and businesses were burned. Bombs were thrown at Sampanthan’s house during curfew.

June 1983:
More Tamils were killed, incl. in Trinco, Jaffna, Negombo, Ratmalana & Kurunegala. Tamil businesses were attacked, incl. a garment factory in Kurunegala. Harassment of Tamil students @ universities continued. Under new regulations, no inquests were held

“Not a single day has passed since the 18th of May without attacks upon Tamils in some part it other of the country”.
— Tamil Times (London, UK; June 1983)

On July 1, 1983, the government banned the publication of Saturday Review & Suthanthiran, 2 main papers reporting & printing in Jaffna. Information beyond this point was largely reported in diaspora media, as strict censorship was imposed. Last issue before Black July.

On July 20th, days prior to the violence of #BlackJuly, the Sri Lankan government imposed local and foreign press censorship on all news related to national security, law, and order.

July 1983: Sexual Violence Against Tamils
Throughout July, violence increased further. On July 22, the army abducted three Tamil girls in Jaffna and took them to their camps. News spread that they were raped and one had killed herself.

July 1983:
Violence against Tamils spread across the country. The premeditated violence caused > 3,000 Tamil deaths mostly in Colombo & other Sinhala maj areas. Tamil economy was destroyed. Over 100 thousand were displaced w/ thousands fleeing abroad.

Black July carried all the hallmarks of genocide according to the legal definition provided by the UN. For Tamils, genocide recognition is important because Black July was neither the first nor last instance.

It is commonly believed that the horrific violence of Black July was confined to Colombo alone. This map shows many of the other towns and villages that suffered anti-Tamil violence during Black July.

The Welikada Prison Massacre
During Black July, 53 Tamil political prisoners were violently murdered by Sinhala prisoners under the supervision of Sinhala prison guards.

Amongst the dead, was TELO militants, Sellarasa “Kuttimani” Yogachandiran, Ganeshanathan Jeganathan, and N. Thangathurai. Kuttimani and Jeganthan are famously remembered for asking for their eyes to be grafted onto the Tamils who would see the birth of Tamil Eelam.

July to August 1983: The Outside World’s Response
As the news of the pogroms reached the outside world, it became apparent that the violence occurred with the support of the state and the security forces and was planned “well in advance”.

Tamil refugees state in Tamil Nadu

According to the official government records, there are more than 58,000 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees residing at 108 camps across Tamil Nadu.  Some have been there as early as 1983. Unofficial records indicate there are over 100,000 refugees from Sri Lanka now residing in Tamil Nadu.  Children who were born there do not have any citizenship, neither in India nor in Sri Lanka.

All refugee camps are registered. They get free education, healthcare, rations, and a modest allowance but they have limited access to jobs and cannot get official documents. The Indian government has a ban on NGOs to prevent any international help from reaching them. India has not signed the international convention for refugees, and the plight of the Sri Lankan refugees in India is not brought to the scrutiny of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

No other major human rights organization has taken note of the suffering of the Tamils languishing in the "special camps" in India. With an ongoing pandemic (and their lack of access to basic health care), and recent development, let's call upon the Indian government to focus on 30 yeard old refugees' struggle in Tamil Nadu.

what's happening today!  They have to be pushed to the end to do this.

DMK councilor involved in drug trafficking with the help of the Stalin government?

Did you know Nawas of DMK, aka Drug lord, is from the same hometown as a DStock abuser here who sits online & promotes propaganda of Tigers & drugs?

Now u know what agenda these guys are working on. TN police should track down these abusers online to know more. While we have been talking about ongoing drug issues in Eezham in recent times [#DrugFreeEelam], we thought the agenda was pushed by the genocidal sr state but surprise DMK also has a role in it.

Now it makes sense why they were hell-bent on making it seems like Tigers ran a drug line.  This propaganda was even shot down by a guest speaker @ErikSolheim  they brought on their spaces to tarnish us!

This is not just a tiny amount....the drug that was caught acts as a substance to create over 1000kg of drugs.  Imagine the lives that will be destroyed if this gets out in OUR communities. Grown men with families don't sit on social media to degrade and label an entire race without monetary gains. And this is it! To successfully run their drug business.

Moreover, the men who were arrested even run a lorry transportation service across Tamil Nadu. Imagine the danger!!! Fostering these snakes will wipe out us!!!

DMK Councillor Arrested For Trying To Smuggle Cocaine Worth ₹360 Crores To Sri Lanka

DMK once again proves they won't stop after being part of genocide but will also hurt our future generation.

To the pachchai, I am not giving your name out but if u continue to do these cheap politics, I will!

Death of Kumarappa, Pulendran and Others

Today marks the 36th death anniversary of Lt. Colonel Pulendran and Lt. Colonel Kumarappa, as well as ten other cadres: Major Abdullah, Captains Karan, Ragu, Palani and Miresh, Lts Thavakumar, Anbalagan, Second Lt. Anandakumar, Lt.Reginald and Captain Nalan.

They swallowed cyanide and committed suicide after being arrested by the Indian Peace Keeping Force and were in the process of being taken to Colombo for interrogation. The incident occurred within two months of the IPKF arriving on the island.

Knowing how the Indian and Sri Lankan armies will treat them and use them against the liberation of Eezham, they sacrificed their lives.
