Olumadu - Vedukkunaari Malai Athi Sivan temple has been vandalized and this temple exists for MANY generations for Tamils.
This temple, located in a hill area, has been the target of Dept of archeology since 2018 [reported in Virakesari]. They probably decided it will be an apt place to erect a Buddha stupa, which will soon happen. virakesari.lk/article/38986
Post-war, when Tamils started revisiting this temple for worship, they were banned from going there. There was no larger protest & Tamil MPs did not pay attention to this.
A few days ago, the temple was found to be fully demolished and if you google this area, you will see the name of a Buddhist temple, Waddamana Parwartha Viharaya.
When will our people's representative fight for this type of genocide? Before we know it, we will lose all our historical sites!
