Vallipuram Temple (Possible future land grabbing)

This week, Vallipura Kovil is popular on Youtube Tamil vloggers from Eezham, thanks to @ZeeTamil 🫢This temple is one of the most ancient worship sites of Tamil in Eezham.  Manimekalai even mentions it & its standing history of Mayon (மாயோன்) worship in Eezham.

Vallipuram Gold Plate: 2nd-century gold plate carrying a Prakrit inscription was found under the foundation of this temple and stands as key evidence as what was stated in Manimekalai.

As Latin was used as a common language in Christianity, Prakrit was used as a common language in Buddhism.  Prakrit does not imply this belongs to Sinhalese.

Inscriptions mention early Nagas, NagaTheevu, and Tamil Buddhism. The Buddha statue found here DOES NOT imply Sinhala settlement here but rather Tamils Buddhism which we no longer talk about. The Buddha statue found here was given to the King of Thailand by the then-British Governor Henry Blake in 1906.  Another forgotten/removed history of Tamils we should claim back.

Vallipuram is located in Vadamarachchi Divisional Secretariat in Jaffna and stands as a village of ancient settlements with rich archeological remains.

As the temple remains the ruins of buildings of an early Buddhist civilization that flourished in the Northern part of Sri Lanka, this might be a targeted site by the genocidal state archeological department. We must be aware of Tamil Buddhism & put an end to this.

Kanniya Hot Springs (கன்னியா வெந்நீரூற்று)

Story of another stolen identity of Tamil [land & cultural genocide]

Kanniya Hot Springs (கன்னியா வெந்நீரூற்று) - 7 hot wells located in Trincomalee. A site that belongs to Tamils is now being labeled as a Buddhist site. Stealing Tamil identity continues...

The history of Kanniya indicates that it was built during Raavanan Era. 1843 Ceylon Gazetteer indicated the remains of a Ganesh temple at the site of the hot wells.

Taking over these Tamil historical sites started as early as 1950 by the Sinhala chauvinistic state and it continues till today...

Kulakkottan [சோழகங்க தேவன், known as குளக்கோட்டன்]

Story of another stolen identity of Tamil [land & history]

Kulakkottan [சோழகங்க தேவன், known as குளக்கோட்டன்] was a Chola king who ruled Trincomalee. Now, Sinhala chauvinism has changed his name to King Aggabodhi. Kulakkottan is now known as Aggabodhi & to affirm this further, they even changed the nearby village name to Aggbopura.

Kulakkottan was mentioned in chronicles such as the Yalpana Vaipava Malai and stone inscriptions like Konesar Kalvettu. He got his name from the work he has done for the people: building tanks [dams] and temples.

Kulakkottan was the son of Vararamatevan, ruler of Chola Nadu and Madurai. When they both arrived in Trincomalee, found the Koneswaram temple destroyed by the Buddhist King Mahasena. They both restored it. He also built the Kantale Dam at Trincomalee in 438 CE, and the Munneswaram temple on the west coast.

A Tamil Chola King & his history has been now changed to a Sinhala version. We have been losing not only land but history as well.

Vediyarasan Fort, Neduntheevu

Vediyarasan Fort in Neduntheevu [Delft Island] - a new place of recruitment for land genocide by the Sri Lankan Sinhala Chauvinist state. Is this a fort or a stupa as they claim?

This island has 2 forts: - one main fort -another small fort-like structure in the North West corner of the island known as Vediyarasan fort - belongs to the long king Vediarasan. This is the structure now being claimed as a stupa.

According to 'detailed studies', they claim these are 3 ancient Buddhist Stupas. If there is an unbiased study that will be done to prove this is indeed a stupa, not a fort, this does NOT claim this land belongs to Sinhalese! We, Tamils, should KNOW that many ancient Theravada Buddhist scholars were Tamil & Buddhism played a huge role in the Tamil cultural history of South India during the first millennium. Just as Christian clerics chose Latin as their universal language, Buddhist monks chose the Pali language, not ethnic or native languages. If Pali language is found on these remains, this does NOT mean it's Sinhala land. It could be easily a Tamil Buddhist land! Another example is Kandarodai Viharai which belongs to the Tamil Buddhists and has been now taken over by the Sinhalese Buddhists now!

This is a very good example of why we should NOT attach a religious identity to Tamils or Eezham. As time evolved, many religions played a role in shaping our culture & history. Tamils are NOT just Hindus, but also Buddhists, Jains, Christians, Muslims, or any other faiths they practice. Don't limit us to one religion & restrict our history to one religion.

Dravidam

Race: Based on similar physical and biological attributes

Ethnicity: Based on cultural expression and place of origin

Dravidam - 'ethnic race' -non-existing factor.

The word 'Dravidian' was 1st USED by Robert A. Caldwell, who introduced the Sanskrit word Dravida (which, in a 7th-century text, meant Tamil). "Dravidian Languages." Encyclopædia Britannica. 2004. Encyclopædia Britannica Online. 9 Jan. 2004 search.eb.com/eb/article?eu=

Before Caldwell, the word Dravida was traditionally used to indicate the Tamil language & people, and vaguely the people of South India. In his own words, Caldwell says:

The origin of the Sanskrit word 'Dravida' is Tamil: Prakrit words such as Damela/Dameda/Dhamila/Damila could have evolved from "Tamila" - used to denote an ethnic identity. In Sanskrit tradition, Dravida was also used to denote the geographical region of South India - brahmins from the land that's surrounded by water on 3 sides.

The Dravidian movement started in Madras, in British India, by C. Natesa Mudaliar, T. M. Nair, P. Theagaraya Chetty - as a movement against Brahmanical oppression: used the term 'Dravidian' to unite Tamils & Telugus. As Madres presidency had speakers of not only Tamil but also Telugu origins, they wanted a term to denote both groups under one umbrella. Later, this was hijacked and misused in politics, mostly to oppress Tamils. 'Dravidam' - thought claimed to denote all South Indians, the concept of it never crossed beyond the border or Tamil Nadu nor did it make a political impact in other southern states.

If this movement is for the empowerment of Tamils, then why not label it as a Tamil movement. What is the point of branding Tamils as Dravidars?! It's purely political and clearly, nowadays, it seems to oppress the indigenous of Tamil Nadu. If you are Tamil, YOU DO NOT need a Dravidian identity as Tamil is YOUR identity. What's the point of relabeling yourself into an identity that does not benefit you but rather benefits politicians to oppress you. Next time someone calls you Dravidian, make sure you correct them and say you are Tamil, that's your identity and you don't need a new label!
நாம் தமிழர் ❤️💛
